Spirit Houses

A common sight in Thailand are spirit houses. Constructed outside of homes and businesses, they encourage spirits to live comfortably, yet independently, away from the family. Happy spirits bring good fortune to the site. Food, drink, and miniature pieces of furniture are all offered to appease the spirits, hopefully happy in their wat-like homes, sitting atop a pedestal displayed prominently on the grounds.
